The Handmade Music School: Online Sessions presents Appalachian Dance World with Martha Spencer on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 3:00pm. The workshop will be presented online via Crowdcast. This workshop takes a look into the history, stories, and styles of flatfoot dancers in the Appalachian Mountains. Demonstration and talk led by Martha Spencer and Jeremy Drummond and featuring interviews from various dancers. Cost is $1 to $100 (suggested donation of $15).
The Handmade Music School presents and evening of square dancing with a stellar lineup of musicians and callers, in a hall with great sound and a wooden floor. Primary callers include Becky Hill and Hannah Johnson, and bands will be made up of Staff musicians from this year's Get-Together and may include Alice Gerrard, Elizabeth LaPrelle, Emily Spencer, Kilby Spencer, Greg Canote, Jere Canote, Riley Baugus, Mac Traynham, Andy Buckman, Jake Blount, Trevor McKenzie, Gina Dilg, Joseph Dejarnette, Dylan Locke and Stephanie Wolf.
