Floyd County Old Time Music Get Together

The Handmade Music School, along with The Floyd Country Store, is excited to announce the fourth annual Floyd County Old Time Music Get Together at the beautiful EcoVillage in Floyd County, Virginia! This amazing four day camp will take place Thursday, March 23 – Sunday, March 26, 2023. The camp offers intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and singing. Instructors include Caleb Klauder, Sammy Lind, Nadine Landry, Reeb Willms, Eddie Bond, Hannah Johnson, Vivian Leva, Joseph Decosimo, Mac Traynham & Andy Buckman. Plus additional staff musicians: Riley Calcagno, Corbin Hayslett, Joseph DeJarnette, Sophie Moeckel and Gina Dilg.

Bass with Nadine Landry

This upright bass workshop will emphasize providing a solid rhythm for jams and band settings. Participants will get to practice good left and right hand techniques while familiarizing themselves with the finger board. Sure there’s gonna be lots of 1-5 but we’ll work on incorporating and understanding bass runs too!

Afternoon sessions will feature presentations and workshops with visiting masters, and evenings will offer square-dancing, concerts, and lots of tune-playing opportunities.
