The Handmade Music School, along with The Floyd Country Store, is excited to announce the fourth annual Floyd County Old Time Music Get Together at the beautiful EcoVillage in Floyd County, Virginia! This amazing four day camp will take place Thursday, March 23 – Sunday, March 26, 2023. The camp offers intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and singing. Instructors include Caleb Klauder, Sammy Lind, Nadine Landry, Reeb Willms, Eddie Bond, Hannah Johnson, Vivian Leva, Joseph Decosimo, Mac Traynham & Andy Buckman. Plus additional staff musicians: Riley Calcagno, Corbin Hayslett, Joseph DeJarnette, Sophie Moeckel and Gina Dilg.

Together we will be exploring many aspects of playing the banjo! From how to execute your playing with good mechanics and economy of motion to developing a style that is your own, we will examine several approaches to improving your playing as a whole.
This class will explore the unique driving fiddle and banjo style of our regional repertoire, rooted in Southwest Virginia's dance music tradition. Learn from local master musicians Chris Prillaman, Jared Boyd, Mac Traynham, and Andy Buckman.
