The Handmade Music School is excited to present this intermediate/advanced Bluegrass banjo workshop on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, with two of our own local Bluegrass legends, Sammy Shelor and Gene Parker. Cost is $40.

Sammy Shelor is a member of the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame, five-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, and also the 2011 recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass. He has led the Lonesome River Band for nearly three decades.

Gene Parker was a founding member of the Lost and Found and recorded a solo album called “Struttin’ to Ferrum”. Highly praised among fellow banjo pickers, Gene is cited as a primary influence by many of today’s leading players including Sammy Shelor.
