The Handmade Music School presents the 2021 Virtual Get Together on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 2:00-6:00pm. Registration opens February 15 with a suggested donation of $50.* Workshops are taught via Zoom. An event schedule and passwords will be sent after registration.

Beaming to you from Baltimore, the Charm City Django Jazz Fest returns with a tuned-in lineup from around the globe celebrating the music and legacy Django Reinhardt.

Pull out the pots and pans and instruments you have at home and join Kari whenever you like, for 30+ minutes of musical fun for your 1 to 6 year old child. Music Fun with Kari at Home: Winter Edition was recorded live on January 22, 2021. The replay is available for purchase with unlimited viewing all winter season at a cost of $30.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced musician looking to take your playing to another level, private lessons provide the opportunity to get the personal attention that can be beneficial to your growth as a musician. Lessons are scheduled weekly, for 30 or 60 minutes. Our experienced and professional faculty will work with you to develop an individualized program that helps you achieve your musical goals.
The town of Floyd and surrounding Blue Ridge region has developed a reputation worldwide for its living traditions of music and dance, which have long been an important source of human connection throughout Appalachia. Constructed and presented with compelling content and storytelling, the Music of Our Mountains platform will serve as both a comprehensive educational resource and an engaging promotional platform by celebrating local music culture and crediting the contributions of those who helped to shape our local traditions.

Our "Share The Music" program provides access to traditional music lessons, classes, workshops and camps through a scholarship program. Your donations make a REAL difference to our students! The Handmade Music School is pleased to announce the Handmade at Home online learning series. Events are streamed through Crowdcast, with payments accepted on a sliding scale basis of $1 to $100 per person. View upcoming workshops.
The Handmade Music School is committed to the health and safety of our community and has suspended all in-person lessons and workshops until further notice. Online lessons with HMS teachers will still be available via Skype or another platform. The Handmade Music School is offering a series of one-hour afternoon workshops as part of the Floyd County Old Time Music Get-Together on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the the Floyd EcoVillage in Floyd County, Virginia. Cost is $25 per workshop.
