The Handmade Music School offers in-depth music camps for youths and adults in Floyd, Virginia. These intensive getaways are designed for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a week or weekend-long music experience. Scholarships are available through the Handmade Music School’s Share the Music Scholarship Program.

Floyd Youth Get Together

Next Camp: July 3-7, 2023
Location: Floyd EcoVillage in Floyd, Virginia

The Floyd Youth Get Together Camp is a fun-filled week immersed in the traditional music and dance of Southwest Virginia. Our camp offers exciting and interactive classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, singing, and dance. Morning and afternoon sessions feature instruction, performance, presentations and enrichment activities with visiting musicians. Kids can jam together, be involved in square-dancing and square dance calling, perform and learn about the long history of music and dance in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Floyd Old Time Music Get Together

Next Camp: Spring 2024
Location: Floyd EcoVillage in Floyd, Virginia

The Floyd Old Time Music Get Together offers intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and singing. Afternoon sessions will feature presentations and workshops with visiting masters, and evenings will offer square-dancing, concerts, and lots of tune-playing opportunities.

Share The Music Scholarships

Our Share the Music Scholarships are easy to access. Any person who cannot afford our learning opportunities but wishes to take part can fill out a simple form requesting the funds for the program of their choice, no questions asked!
